Question 1

What does an art advisor do?

Accepted Answer

An art advisor helps individuals, businesses, and institutions source, acquire, commission, and manage artwork. At Above Second, we provide end-to-end art advisory services including artist sourcing, budget planning, commission management, installation coordination, and ongoing collection care for hospitality, corporate, and residential clients in Miami and internationally.

Question 2

How do I commission an artist?

Accepted Answer

Commissioning an artist through Above Second begins with a project brief — sharing your space, vision, budget, and timeline. We then source and propose suitable artists from our represented roster, facilitate introductions, manage the creative process, and oversee production and installation from start to finish.

Question 3

How do hotels choose artwork?

Accepted Answer

Hotels choose artwork through a strategic process aligned with their brand identity, guest experience goals, and spatial architecture. Above Second works directly with hospitality groups and interior design teams to curate art programs that reflect the property's narrative, from lobby installations to room collections and site-specific murals.

Question 4

What is a site-specific art installation?

Accepted Answer

A site-specific art installation is a custom artwork conceived and created for a particular location, responding to its architecture, history, culture, or community. Above Second specializes in producing site-specific works for hotels, restaurants, real estate developments, and public spaces throughout Miami and globally.

Question 5

How much does art consulting cost?

Accepted Answer
